Hotel Review - Hotel Heritage Inn, Gulbarga

Heritage Inn is one of the most popular hotels in Gulbarga and the locals will confirm the same.
Located next to the Gulbarga fort, the location is not bang in the center of town, but easily accessible.

The hotel is basic in nature and they have a restaurant and bar inside, breakfast is included as part of your stay. Unfortunately I had to leave early and didn’t get to sample the food.

There is no lift to get to the rooms. The room itself is decent enough, they have a basic TV and an air conditioner. Beds are not very comfortable as the spring mattress being used is of slightly inferior quality. The room is not very large and same is the case with the bathroom.

The plus point being the rooms are neat and clean and bathrooms are well maintained. The decore is very simple, nothing to write about.
Service is good, staff will do their bit to make sure you have a pleasant stay within the limitation offered by the property.

Value for money is justifiable at about 1500 per night.
Considering the limited options in Gulbarga and the value for money factor I can say this was not bad at all.

Hotel Review - Kanthi Resorts, Bagalkot

Bagalkot is not a big tourist hub nor a significant business destination, so i was a bit wary about my stay here before booking.
Kanthi resorts seemed like a good option while checking online and i decided to go ahead with the booking.

Bagalkot now has a navnagar area where they plan to relocate the town to keep it from submerging in the almatty dam, and this is where the resort is located.
Infact it is slightly on the outskirts- on the Hubli highway and an unlit board guiding us into the property was difficult to find at night.

The resort is still work in progress I’d say, looked unfinished. There is no greenery to speak of. It has a couple of blocks, one housing the rooms and the reception area and another for the restaurant.
The check in and check out was good and smooth, staff speaks good English.
The entire property and rooms are extremely neat and clean which was a delight to see.

The room itself was a pleasant surprise too.
It was a really large room with a big bed, couple of sofa seats and a table, a wall mounted flat screen tv with Tata Sky HD box. AC was powerful, lots of place to keep your luggage, a cupboard too.
Bathroom was huge and towels, bed linen etc were clean.
And the sleep comfort was ultimate, it is hard to believe the fabulous fiber pillows and memory foam mattress which was used. I slept like a baby.

Service is good, though they don’t have telephone in the room strangely. Staff is helpful, and friendly.
I ordered for some food and beer in the room.
Yes, they have a bar too.
The chicken starter was not so good as the outer portion was overcooked and chicken was hard too. It had an interesting decoration though.
The chicken biryani served with raita was better in taste, but still not very happy with the quality of the chicken.

They have a swimming pool also which is accessible by guests. A waterpark is also part of the property and I’d recommend the hotel to upgrade themselves just a wee bit and market it well, and it is sure to do well.

The value for money proposition was phenomenal as a single room with the above mentioned facilities cost just 1600 for a night, wow!
Badami is quite nearby, so it is worth visiting for its history and archaeological significance.

Restaurant Review - Arbor Brewing Company, Magrath Road

Drop in to Arbor to drink your ale,
The colour of the brew will tell the tale,
Black, copper, dark brown or pale,
No matter what you drink, a good time shall prevail.

An awesome place, truly!!
We dropped in on a friday night, to find the place jam packed, barring one table where we managed to squeeze in just in time.
They have large seating and very nicely done interiors. We played a bit of fusball, but mainly we were just sitting chatting away and having a good time while having some amazing beer.

"The beer"-
They do have a variety of brews here with distinct elements. We tried the bangalore bliss, german beer and belgien tripel. All had their own unique taste, unfortunately we didn't drink much as we all had to drive back.

"The food"-
Spectacular mostly. We had the nachos, which were ok. The chicken sandwich and chicken pizza were quite tasty and had good chunks of chicken. The lamb burger was a standout, such a soft juicy patty of lamb is rather rare in India. The veg sizzler mainly comprising of mushroom could have been a bit better.

"The service"-
Very nice, very friendly staff, and despite the rush really surprisingly quick and prompt service. You will feel right at home.

"The crowd"-
Ok fine, i'll admit it, we are not really spring chicken on the party circuit anymore, but we do go out a lot, and the crowds here is among the best i've seen.
A good mix of foreigners, localites and people from all parts of the country and all walks of life.
Stags, keep your libido under control.

"Value for money"- Slightly expensive but every bit worth the experience for all senses.

We are going to keep going here repeatedly for sure, a must try for party aficionados.
Diagonally opposite Garuda mall makes it a central location for people to congregate too.

Restaurant Review - Yuatcha, 1 MG mall

After hearing a lot about the first Michelin star restaurant chain to enter Bangalore, Yuatcha had been on our wish list for a while now. We paid a visit for dinner one weeknight.

The ambiance of the restaurant is simple and elegant. Nothing too dazzling except the wonderful bar they have on one side which has a huge variety of liquor, a minimum of 80-100 brands i assume.

There were some high bar stools by the counter apart from the tables spread across the restaurant.

I don't think it would be fair to call it a chinese restaurant as you can't expect the usual stuff here. No manchurians, veg balls in hot garlic sauce etc.
Their speciality are the dimsums and we tried quite a few of them in combination with the sauces which were served to us on table.
3 veg ones - Truffle Edamame Dumpling, Veg Shanghai Dumpling and 3 style mushroom cheng fun.

Sliced Cuttlefish in spicy sauce
3 non veg ones - Crispy prawn cheng fun, sliced cuttlefish in spicy sauce and sticky rice with chicken and prawn in lotus leaf.

The standout ones were the cheung fun and the sticky rice which had great taste and were quite filling too.
Each one of them tasted different than the others and had distinct tastes, most very mellow.
We were also served 3 sauces on the table to go with the dimsums.
Presentation of the dishes is also really nice, and portions are not too large, generally 3 pieces per dish.

Hofan Noodles
To go with the dimsums we ordered for 2 pots of tea, the four seasons oolong and dragons well green tea.
The flavours in the tea were too mild to register on our taste buds, and we were unsatisfied.
I've had flavoured teas in china, singapore and ofcourse at Infinitea Bangalore, so i know how mild these floral teas are, but here it was a let down.

We ordered small portions of main course namely the humble jasmine rice, stir fry vegetables with lotus stem and hofan noodles. The noodles had a lot of fried tofu, onions etc and were uniquely flavourful. The stir fry veggies were completely dry but we enjoyed eating the fresh and crunchy lotus stem.

To conclude our dinner, we decided to satiate our sweet tooth and called for a jaffa cake and a tropical cake. The taste was alright, the pina colada sorbet in the dish was great and we ordered some ice creams again in the end.

Service was about average as the person serving us forgot to bring one dish and brought one extra which we didn't order. Naturally in a high end place like this you are expected to ask too many questions about what is being served as it is all alien to you. But the answers were not always convincing, so service can definitely improve.

The pricing is steep surely, and you can expect to pay about 1500-2000 per head for a proper meal.

Those not comfortable with this sort of cuisine will not enjoy paying these kind of prices, but foodies who are experimental with their eating should definitely try it for once.

Restaurant Review - Maharaja Bhog, Lavelle Road

Vegetarians of the city, rejoice!!
You have reason to cheer..
Get ready for a feast for the kings
Maharaja bhog is here..
(But they don't serve beer)

After that pathetic poetry, let me bring you the good news - Vegetarian families in Bangalore have a solid reason to feel happy
A fine dine restaurant serving authentic rajasthani, gujrati cuisine is now at Lavelle Road.

If you are going on a weekend, be patient, as they don't take reservations, so you might have to wait a bit before you get your table.
The decore is wonderfully done, and the interiors give a feeling of grandeur. Comfortable seating as well.

The service also is very prompt, and within moments of being seated, someone comes over to place the thali and to wash your hands. After that it is just a non stop food fest, with waiters coming to your table every minute with something different.

The thali comprises of 2-3 starters, 4-5 vegetables, dal, kadhi, papad, pickle, salad, choice of rotis, khichdi, pulao, 3 sweets, butter milk, saunf water...phew! i could go on about the variety.
The food is very tasty and service is superb.
Standout items for me included ragda pattice, buttermilk, halwa and pulao.
The menu changes, so you will not get similar items when you go.

It really is a feast for the taste buds, and you are likely to get done with your meal within half an hour of indulgence.

Do not look at this restaurant for a relaxed meal or a quiet outing, go for great veg food in a grand setting. The price tag justifies the quality too.

Restaurant Review - Paratha Plaza, Sanjaynagar

This is one of the few eating places around sanjaynagar area, and they serve a plethora of parathas.

It used to be a small joint, but over time they have also grown and now operate out of a bigger place with fairly large seating.
They have a lot of variety of paratha’s which revolve around 7-8 different fillings but in many combinations.
The pricing is ok, on an average around 40-50 for a single paratha.
Butter and curd is available at 5 bucks each.

The service was unsatisfactory for me as the service staff seemed to be lost and confused, running around everywhere. Even after asking for a glass twice, i couldn't get it.
The taste of the parathas was only mediocre at best.

If you must eat in this area then it can be considered because of the affordable prices, otherwise there is no attraction to return to this place, especially for a north indian used to eating good parathas.

Restaurant Review - Green Theory, Bangalore

Had been hearing a lot about Green Theory mainly from my pure vegetarian friends and we gave it a try last night.

It is on convent road between residency and richmond road which can be a nightmare during day time, but was rather quiet at night.
We found parking on the road easily and walked into the neat setup.

They have seating outside as well as indoors, we sat outside as it seemed better. Indoors was uninspiring.
There will be a few mosquitoes outside at night, but they had lit up some coils, so it wasn't much of a bother.
They have low sofa seating or normal chair seating outside. Music was a bit louder than expected, but ok.

The cuisine is continental, and we ordered a mint lemonade and Mediterranean salad to start with.
The lemonade was all too lemony and the mint taste was very subdued. We had to add some sugar and water to make it drinkable.
The Mediterranean salad was cut veggies tossed in a bowl, but with excess vinegar, which over ruled the other tastes. The quantity of cheese was less and the salad was mediocre at best.

We went on to order the roast vegetable skewers which was interesting. The vegetables were coated in a nice batter and roasted, which gave a thick coating on the outside. It was cornflour mainly, but added a good twist of taste to the skewers.
The vegetables like brocolli, zucchini, onions etc were crunchy and the outer covering was nice, filling too. And it was 3 large skewers. This was the highlight of the meal we had.

The main course gives you a choice of pizzas, pasta, sandwich, burgers, sizzlers or other mains.
We ordered the cottage cheese and mushroom pepper curry with rice.
The moment i took my first bite, i was so disappointed. I felt cheated almost that i managed to pick the wrong dish out of the many options we discussed. The paneer was like thermocol, so chewy it was inedible. The curry had excessive pepper in it and felt like european thick rasam. The small bits of mushroom were not enough to salvage this dish. Rice was just there in the plate, not knowing what had to be done with it.
So we ended up eating just enough to not feel hungry and left the rest.

After the very average food we got, we didn't gather enough courage to order for desserts.

Surprisingly the service also was not upto the mark. Staff communication was a bit weak and the waiter would just stand at our table with plates in his hand, waiting for us to clear things and create space for him to keep everything in order, LOL...

The only saving grace was the bill of 800 which was not a rip off.
I'm very surprised that a lot of my revered fellow foodies have rated this place so highly, but then most of those reviews were more than 6 months ago.
A case of quality gone down maybe, or just a bad day?

I wont be coming here to cross check again though. People who only eat at veg restaurants can make do with this restaurant as they have the rare jain-continental combination too..

Review - Downbelow Marine and Wildlife Adventures, Kota Kinabalu

To review downbelow would be simple, can be done in 2 lines-

Very professional, great staff, good value for money, good planning and execution. They are just the right people to show Sabah to you.
Now, coming down to what we covered with them will give more insight into the experience we had.
We took a 3 day package while we were in Kota Kinabalu. The bookings were done over email using my credit card and the initial communication itself was very professional. The response time was quick and replies were detailed.

We did a proboscis monkey and fireflies cruise on the first day, which was from about 2 pm to 9 pm including pick up from the hotel.
The drive was for about 2 hours to get to the Klias river. We had some snacks and then proceeded for the boat cruise. We were in the boat for an hour and half approx, during which we saw some proboscis monkeys in their natural habitat. They are a little difficult to spot, but the guides were doing a fine job of pointing them out. We also saw some birds and the odd monitor lizard.
Once back on the shore, we had dinner which was freshly prepared, mainly fish, chicken and rice, but special vegetarian food had been prepared for my wife on request, and i was surprised at the effort taken to serve her something she could eat including a variety of fruits, corn, veg curry and rice.
Post dinner we went again in the boat to see some fireflies, and it was an interesting experience to see them for the first time. Almost impossible to photograph them too.
The experience in entirety - The travel was too long and boring. Guide was average. Overall the experience was ok, not extraordinary.

Day 2 - We went diving at the dive center in Tunku Abdul Rahman Park. It was an early pick up around 8 am, and we were at the dive center in about 40 mins after a short boat ride.
My trainer Pablo, is an excellent guy. He took a long time explaining the process of diving with the help of a guide, equipment and we even took a test before being allowed to get in the water.
It was my first dive and to my good luck, i was the only one with Pablo that day, so he was able to give full attention to me.
At first it's a little panic, and it takes a while to get used to breathing under water, diving, the equipment etc.
By the end of the third dive, i wanted to go on longer... The sea is calm and filled with corals and fishes. We were hardly 3-4 meters below water and could see so many corals. A remarkable experience and a great guide. The dive center itself is quite good, they have tea/coffee/water available apart from lunch which is served between dives. Shower, washrooms all are neatly maintained and equipment is first class.

Day 3 - We went river rafting in River Klias again. The guide on this day was not from dive down below but another company they have a tie up with. Morse was his name as we understood, and he was a wonderful guide. We drove up to the river and then got into groups where 8 of us where in a raft including our guide. The water levels were quite low in March, and there were no rapids to speak of. That being the case it was the raft just cruising along because of our paddling. The guide was the one who made this day worthwhile as he made us swim and float in the river 2-3 times. He kept speaking to us and entertaining us and suddenly this group of strangers from 4 different countries were bonding well. Lunch was served at the end of our journey and gave us a chance to dry ourselves a bit on the banks.

They also do a variety of other stuff, including the popular climb up to Mt. Kinabalu.
I loved the way everything was handled, especially the diving. Will highly recommend them to anyone visiting Kota Kinabalu.

Restaurant Review - Kohinoor, Kota Kinabalu

After spending a few days eating the local food in Sabah, the Indian in me was craving for some good curries and roti. We were staying at Le Meridien, and right at the waterfront area, which is a hub of eateries.
While passing by we saw Kohinoor Indian Restaurant and decided to give it a try.

On a weekday night, the place wasn't too crowded. They have indoor and outdoor seating by the water, but we chose to stay indoor as it was cooler and more quiet.
The decore is reminiscent of India with dupattas and bangles forming part of the decore. The wall paintings also depict scenes from Indian villages.
The small kitchen is visible clearly, and the bar counter is right at the entrance. Seating is not too large here, only a few tables inside.

Coming to the food, we ordered palak panner and choley masala with rotis and kulcha. Also had some papad, pickle and onions all of which were chargeable!!
The palak paneer was ok, palak had a good texture and flavour, but paneer was hard as expected. It really is difficult to get good soft paneer in most places outside India.
Choley masala was very tasty though, we finished the whole thing in minutes. The spice levels can be adjusted as per your preference, so no fear. We had medium spicy and it was perfect.

Rotis were nicely baked, neither burnt nor too soft, proper tandoori rotis. The stuffed kulcha was soft and had a nice filling of potatoes and onions, went well with the curries.

Quantities are large and we ended up leaving half of one dish, 2 curries will suffice for 3-4 people easily.

Service is average, some of the local staff were busy playing around rather than looking after customers. The Indian guys in the kitchen were working hard.

Pricing is not very high, and justifies the food. Not a bad place for a bit of Indian tadka.

Movie Review - Queen

I had been hearing rave reviews about Queen for a while and ultimately was almost forced into watching it, and this time i'm glad that i did.

The movie is all about Kangna Ranaut stealing the show with a thunderous performance encompassing very real human emotions. She laughs, she cries, she acts silly, gets angry and takes you through the ups and downs of her life and you very much are a part of her story after a while.
The fact that she is in a role of a simpleton and sans make up for most of the film lends a lot of credibility to the story of Rani, who gets stood up a day before her wedding, and decides to go on her honeymoon alone.

What unfolds before us is a compelling story of her transformation as she befriends strangers in a strange land and forays into an unexplored albeit exciting life.
She discovers what real friendship is, what real bonding is and how simple life can be if you want it to be.
During this period she constantly relates to what her fiance Vijay (Rajkumar Rao) would say in a lot of situations she encounters, and finds that she is better of being this new person.

Rani falls in love with her new self, she is independent, confident, free and much more happier this way. So much so that she decides to break all connection with Vijay despite his pestering Rani to be back with him again.

The co actors in the movie are great in their roles, especially Lisa Hayden as the half indian half french maid in a Parisian hotel and the host of friends she makes who are from different parts of the world and different walks of life.

This is Vikas Behl's second movie after he had co-directed Chillar Party, but you wouldn't know it going by the finesse with which the film is made. There are hardly any loop holes to speak of and the movie is near flawless, a rarity in Indian cinema really.
There are some great scenes and on many ocassions the audience were left clapping as they watched what unfolded on the screen in front of them. The movie has cinematic excellence and entertainment value as well, so it appeals on one level or the other to maximum viewers.

What is also very heartening to see is the spate of recent movies which have really given a platform for our actresses to showcase their talents.
Think about the last 5-6 years and we have seen movies like English Vinglish, Barfi, Fashion, Jab we Met, Kahani, Dirty Picture etc which have really highlighted the actresses.
In stark contrast barely 3-4 movies where our heroes have shone through with their performances. A case for film makers to delve over.. anyone listening?

Restaurant Review - La Risata, Kuala Lumpur

La Risata means "the laughter" and there are 2 branches in Kuala Lumpur. One is at Medan Damansara, but we happened to visit the Ampang outlet, which is just 4 kms or so from the Petronas Towers.

It is located on pesiaran ampang, which is parallel to Jalan Ampang and the street had a few restaurants in close proximity.

As you step into the restaurant, you are pleasantly greeted and guided to your table. First up on the left side is the bar and on the right they have some high tables with tall chairs.
Further inside there is more seating which was more comfortable and opposite you can see part of the semi open kitchen.
The decore is earthen and rustic, very subtle interiors and not too striking, but rather elegant.

We ordered our drinks, Angelo Arusso and the Risata Sling. Now, i'm not much of a cocktail person, but what fantastic flavours they threw up. The fine art of cocktail mixology - perfected!
To go with it we ordered some Bruschetta with tomato and garlic. It was nice, the tomatoes and garlic had a fresh taste and the bread was crisp and not soggy.

After this relaxed start, we opted for a Pizza Porcini, which was ultra thin, and oh so crispy. The base was like nothing i've ever had before, it would crumble like a biscuit at the edges and it was not hard at all, simply brilliant.

The toppings were also good, very organic flavours and not an overload of cheese, quite a light pizza.
We also tried the "SPEZZATINO DI POLLO CON OLIVA E CAPERI"
(i had to copy the name straight off their website). It is a large piece of chicken braised with olives, onions, tomatoes, capers and white wine and served with some roasted vegetables on the side.

Mama Mia! Lo and behold, another beautiful creation from the very talented chefs here.
The chicken was soft and tender, would come off easily from the bone, the liquid in the plate was a good broth and the pieces of olives, onions and carrot tasted wonderful in it.
The only thing I wish for is if the chicken was boneless, as I always find it hard to have a chicken with bones using cutlery. Still it was a thoroughly enjoyable dish.

Despite being full, we ordered for a dessert, namely the bread and butter pudding with butterscotch and vanilla ice cream. It was just about good, not the best part of our meal.
Portions of the dishes are not small either.

The service you can expect here is nothing short of exceptional. The waiters are always available and give you good recommendations. The service speed is quick despite the fact that they are usually full. And the best part which won our hearts was the extra help extended to us by one of the staff.

We were worried about getting a cab late at night from that spot and we checked where and how we could get a cab. The person said let me see what I can do.
And by the time we were done paying our bill and walked out, he was waiting there with a cab for us. Such warmth cannot be taught easily, and it speaks volumes about the culture here. Naturally the place has been a hit for the last 18 years and going strong.

The value for money is also good, as the bill for all this came up to 150 ringgits. Not a bad deal at all.

I would highly recommend it for a quiet dinner or a romantic evening in K.L.
Kudos to La Risata!

Attraction Review - Batu Caves, Kuala Lumpur

The setting is quite filmy, a beautiful limestone hill jutting out of nowhere in the midst of busy K.L.
Stunning cave structures which have been formed for ages by the limestone being dug out naturally. An old hindu temple inside the caves and a 140 ft large statue covered by gold to signify the god inside. What a sight!

It is on one side of the city though and taxi drivers will try their best to rip you off getting here and back. Another good option is to take the train which leads right up to batu caves.

It is a complex with a few things to see.
As you enter on the left side, there is a statue of Lord Hanuman, and as is usually the case, where there is Hanuman, there are hoards of monkeys. In fact people should be vary of the aggressive monkeys, particularly if you have food, you are likely to be attacked. The best thing is to hand over the food or risk being bitten.
There is also a temple next to it which was closed as it was afternoon.

A few stalls selling food and some light bites are situated opposite a waterbody with a fountain.

One can feed pigeons here as well. The entrance with a small bridge over the water leads upto the caves. There is a small ticket of 15 ringetts for this. The caves encompass many sculptures of Indian gods and goddesses which are beautifully painted and it's a nice sight, usually very peaceful and cool inside the caves, saves you from the heat outside. Some spots were surprisingly breezy, guess because of the natural cross ventilation within the caves.

There is another cave whose presense here is rather surprising, it houses some dangerous snakes like the king cobra, 2-3 variants of pythons, turtles, even a small alligator. Apparently they conserve and breed reptiles here, but what has that got to do with a temple?

Some parrots and peacocks also provide a snap opportunity, apart from some stalls selling tourist knick knacks and souvenirs.
There are a few eating joints within the compound and most of them serve Indian food, including veg food. Most of it is south indian, we tried the thali and dosa and both were below average but edible. There were other options like pav bhaji, chats, chole bhature etc which we didn't dare try.

The main temple itself is located on a higher section of the caves and one needs to climb over 250 steps to get there. Before the staircase stands a 140 ft tall statue of Lord Murugan which is covered in gold paint. Once you manage to reach the top, the views of the city are pretty good.
The caves inside have very high ceiling, at some places almost 100 ft high and the stalactite formations will leave you awestruck. The main temple is closed in the afternoons and re opens after 4 p.m. We happened to be there at the time of the Aarti and it was a pious feeling standing there.

Photographers will have a field day capturing all there is to see and making all the adjustments to the camera settings due to the ever fluctuating lighting and contrasts.

Whether you are a hindu or not, if you are in K.L, this is a must visit as it's something unique which can't be seen everywhere.

Attraction Review - Sunway Lagoon, Kuala Lumpur

The sunway lagoon is one of the two very popular amusement parks in K.L, the other bring Genting Highlands which is currently undergoing a major renovation.

About a 25 minute drive from the city center, sunway lagoon offers more than just rides and it is a complete family destination.

The sunway pyramid shopping mall, a luxurious star hotel and some usual shops are in the vicinity of the Sunway Lagoon, all part of the same integrated complex.

The park itself is not very massive, and it can be covered easily within a day. There are 5 zones for visitors to enjoy, namely the water park, adventure park, wildlife park, scream park and extreme park.

The water park has some slides, a wave pool, a lazy river, the usuals. The standout ride is the vuvuzela which takes your tube whirling through before plunging you down into a large pendulum - the mouth of the vuvuzela and then send you splashing into the water. The wave pool hardly had any waves to speak of.
Chargeable locker facilities are available near the waterpark.

The wildlife zone is one of the best, they have few glass displays with snakes and other small animals, but the star attraction are the large glass enclosures of the tiger, the beautiful black panther and gibbons.

The animals were visible clearly and we stood just about 10 feet away from a full grown Malaysian tiger, one of the most majestic creatures on the planet.

The walk through aviary also was very  nice and we saw a number of birds inside including hornbills, parrots, owls and eagles. Thankfully the eagles were not flying around unlike other birds.

The adventure zone features some dry rides, mostly oriented towards kids though pirate's revenge, roller coaster, tomahawk etc should interest the thrill seeking visitors. The grand canyon river rapids is also part of this, though we didn't go there as we had changed back into our dry clothes by then.

The extreme park has a few interesting things to do like the bungy jumping off the bridge or g-force which slingshots you many feet into the sky in a matter of seconds. The flying fox is a zipline from the top of the bridge to the artificial beach in the water park. One can also ride an ATV for thrills across a designed track, but the go-karting is extremely poor and below ordinary as the track is too simple and karts have no power at all. For the faint hearted, archery and paint ball shooting are simple options.

The scream park is a zone for the brave, as you can expect to be walking through zombies, surrounded by the dead and not in a funny way. They have a 3d show and a theater too, so quite a few attractions within the scream zone, unfortunately we didn't happen to go here, so cant comment much on it.

Across the park there are several food stalls, restaurants which serve a variety of snacks, beverages, ice creams and different cuisines of food ranging from local delicacies to arabic, indian, chinese, continental etc.
So there's definitely something for everyone to eat. The park is kept neat and clean including the bathrooms and changing rooms/showers. It can get crowded on weekends, so make sure you get in early. the place opens by 10 am and closes by 6 p.m barring the surf beach which is open only after 6 p.m on weekends.

Ticket price is not extravagant, and though not a must, it can be visited during your stay at K.L.

Having been to some very fine amusement parks around the world, i'll rate this one a 3.5/5.
